Christine Hyde

Christine moved to Springwood in the Blue Mountains  from the Eastern Suburbs 15 years ago for her planned 'tree-change'.  Christine has drawn and painted forever and now the subject matter of her artworks primarily take inspiration from her immediate and local bush surrounds as well as the images she paints en plein air in her travels. Christine has a cosy studio purpose-built on her property on the edge of natural bush, banksias, boulders and eucalypts.  The studio has a comfy sofa for visitors and is only a couple of steps to her on-site boutique Gallery.

Christine mainly enjoys painting in acrylic on large compositions however she loves the spontenaity of watercolour, charcoal, pen and ink.  She has successfully exhibited in recent local shows and was recipient of a'Highly Commended' award for her painting in The Edge Gallery Autumn Exhibition.  She received 2nd prize in 'Acrylics Any Subject Class' at The 2016 Penrith Show. She was one of three BMAN artists invited to participate in  'Confluence', an exhibition held at Nolan on Lovel Contemporary Fine Art Gallery, Katoomba in September/October 2016.

Christine was selected to showcase her art in the Exhibition 'If These Walls Could Speak' held at the The Woodford Academy, an historic National Trust property in April/May 2017 as well as 'Summer Exposure' at Braemar House Gallery, Springwood.   Many of her paintings hang in private homes in France and locally.
