Susannah Place, The Rocks II

I’m inspired to paint flowers, cottages, tin sheds, landscapes and rustic buildings because they’re beautiful. I love anything old … wooden, rusty gates, worn walls and sandstone. I find sandstone has a wonderful kind of energy as well as physical beauty. I’ve tried most mediums but I love watercolour the best. I’ve also studied different styles of jazz dancing for the past ten years and I think there’s a kind of parallel with dancing that helps with my painting. I’ve worked as a graphic designer for fifteen years, so really it has only been recently that I’ve been able to dedicate some real time to painting at last!
